Spring Vacation-4th Stop-Washington DC-Day 1

This is where we spent the majority of our vacation. We walked many a mile, so this spot was perfect to cool our HOT feet! The weather was wonderful- 85 I believe on this particular day.  We are resting at the WWII Memorial fountain and in the background you could see the Washington Monument. We didn't get to go up inside because the tickets were out at 8:00 am!  We would have had to get up by 5:30 to ride the sub and get in line around 6:30. Not on vacation!  We came during the busiest time of the year~ the Cherry Blossom Festival!
We just had to stand by our home-state!
Here is the Lincoln Memorial ."Four Score and Seven Years ago..."
Vietnam Memorial
The Bureau of Engraving and the White House. Our kids are all down wit DC!
The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. Remind you of "Night at the Museum"?
We actually didn't like this one. Way to many "millions and millions of years timelines" in them.
We were really too tired to fully appreciate the Smithsonian American History Museum. After this one, we rode the sub back to Aunt Rosie's for some good cooking. Blake said he just loved the the subway. I think we all did after a full day of walking everywhere!
